Concept and design

Do you lack the time or the experience for the implementation of technical projects? DIA-Nielsen has a department which is responsible for the field of innovations, in order to realise the various product ideas with which we are confronted. To this end, we develop solution approaches in the form of feasibility studies, and produce technical realisation plans. From the preliminary discussions to the tool design, DIA-Nielsen GmbH benefits from its many years of experience and its comprehensive know-how, and is therefore able to draw up realistic and competitive quotations.
Our expert design and innovation team will be happy to advise you, so that together we can develop a tailor-made solution for your product meeting your requirements in full.
We offer you the following services:
- Expert, free advice and consultation
- Processing of enquiries in the form of sketches, specifications lists or other definitions (e.g. 3-D models)
- Feasibility studies and development of technical solutions
- Scheduling
- Clarification of tool design taking into account the product requirements
- Type of tool mould (e.g. 2- or 3-jaw tools, pusher tools); depending on the complexity of the product.
- Number of cavities and service life of the tool in relation to the production volume.
- Clarification of whether a hotrunner system is required for the tool design (for sprue-less and cycle-optimised production).
- Intensity of the cooling.
- Depending on requirements, the production of sketches, tool and product drawings in the form of 2-D or 3-D models, which you can view and turn on ordinary computers, even without a CAD system.
- Development/procurement of prototypes in synthetic resin
- Compilation of a non-binding quotation with “best case/worst case” scenarios for the volume to be produced.
Following receipt of the order, the design department begins the detailed work, applying the previously defined specifications from the specifications list.
The decisive factors in this respect are:
- the required material,
- the production volume needed,
- the mould and positional tolerances to be maintained,
- the surface properties and
- any other special requirements.
Depending on the individual case, one of three different CAD systems is used for the design work:
- Euklid Design (2D)
- Pro E Wildfire 4 (3D)
- Auto-CAD (2D/3D)
The design documentation will then be submitted to you if required for approval. After approval, the tool drawings will be completed and passed on to our tool construction for tool manufacture and subsequent sampling.
